Welcome to my world where things seen from the corner of my eye aren’t quite what they seem. Mundane subject matter endures an alteration of time and space, where trees become Totem Poles, grandstands become cathedrals, an anchovy tank contains a shadowy figure, picnic benches acquire wallpaper, water puddles become whole worlds, a telephone pole becomes a landscape and shadows float between ominous and fanciful. Anything goes in my world.

My work is “twice seen”, the first when the photograph is taken and second when it is colored. Not just colored but pulled, twisted, poked and prodded until additional meanings appear. I seek to visualize feelings.

I use a variety of multi-media materials including black and white film and paper, oil paints, colored pencils and gold leaf to accomplish my visions, little journeys through small worlds only I can see. My goal is a multi-layer weaving of materials and meaning for the viewer to wind their way through.

There is mystery in the ordinary.
